Worst shoes to wear for a job interview – Part 6

Imagine shaking hands with a potential employer who just happens to look down at your shoes and notices that you are wearing are a pair of rough looking sneakers that have the appearance of having been chewed up by the family dog. Worst possible case scenario after the interview is that he will laugh at you before he asks you to leave. Best case scenario will be a thank you for the interview and a “we’ll call you if we have something for you” comment before you go. The worst shoes to wear for a job interview are old, dirty and worn out sneakers. The best shoes to wear to a job interview are casual with a low heel(if you are female)and are black or brown in color.

Potential employers will notice your shoes along with your grooming and the rest of your attire when you are being interviewed. Shoes should appropriately match and not clash with the attire that you’ve chosen for your job interviewer. Hopefully, you have done your research prior to the interview and picked out an outfit and shoes that are appropriate,neat and clean.

Casual shoes and not sandals,boots or sport shoes are the right shoes to wear to an interview. Ensure the shoes that you have chosen to wear are clean, polished and not scuffed.

Shoes that are black or brown are best for an interview but you can wear any color as long as it doesn’t clash with the outfit you are wearing or to loud. Bright colors are not recommended.

Hiking boots, slippers and rubber over boots are definitely out for an employment interview. Straps and big buckles wouldn’t be fit for an interview either. Look your best when interviewing for a new position. Start with your head and on down to your toes. Potential employers will notice every aspect of the way your dressed and this includes footwear.
